Gear Aid Aquaseal® + FD Repair Adhesive

When it comes to fixing damaged or worn outdoor gear, Aquaseal^® + FD Repair Adhesive should be your go-to solution. It’s a clear, waterproof adhesive and sealant. It’ll stick to a huge range of fabrics, including neoprene and waterproof clothing. There are several Aquaseal^® products available, each suited to a slightly different use. Use Aquaseal^® + FD, for repairs where you require a flexible and a durable repair.

Here are some of the different things Aquaseal^® + FD can be used for:

• Fix holes in kayak spraydecks, wetsuits or waders. To repair small holes, spread a small amount of Aquaseal^® + FD  over the hole. For larger repairs, you can use Aquaseal^® + FD to glue a patch of neoprene over damaged area.
• Reinforce high wear areas. For example, you can apply a protective layer of Aquaseal^® + FD to protect vulnerable stitching on river shoes.
• Glue replacement latex gaskets onto drytop and drysuits.
• Seal small holes in drybags or kayak airbags
• Repair seams that are leaking

Using Aquaseal^® is easy.

To repair a hole in fabric, lay the fabric out flat and then squeeze a small amount of Aquaseal^® on to the required area. There’s no need to spread it out, as it’ll usually flow nicely on its own. You can prevent Aquaseal^® leaking through the hole by placing a piece of tape on the inside of the area to be repaired. For an extra strong repair, flip the fabric over and repeat on the inside. Allow the 1st application time to cure before applying the layer to the inside.

When using Aquaseal^® to glue on a patch, simply cover both surfaces in a thin layer of adhesive and bring the two layers together. Ensure the two layers cannot separate while the Aquaseal^® cures.
