Used Eskimo Topo Duo

Description

The Topo Duo is a unique and hard-to-come by kayak. We’ve had this kayak in the shop from back when we offered kayaking instruction. It has received occasional use and it is in reasonable condition for its age. The hull is scuffed and scratched, but there’s nothing too serious. The fittings are all working well, including the airbags. There are three airbags and they all hold air, although the central one has a slow leak (it’ll hold air for several days, so no concern). The back rests have been replaced with Immersion Research ones, which give better support.

The kayak is a 2005 model, and this is the updated design. Eskimo, a German company, make their kayaks in a different way to most other manufacturers. They use a technique called blow-molding which produces a stiff and tough kayak. The only other whitewater double made this way is the Prijon 2B. This sells in NZ for $4,600.

The kayak comes with two Day Two Kaituna Spraydecks, sized to fit the Topo Duo. Both are a medium waist, although one is fitted with an adjustable waist. This deck also has a knee release strap fitted and it’s in very tidy condition. The other deck has a bit of rubbing on the neoprene behind the waist tube, but it works just fine. There is no damage, nor any repairs to either deck.
