The AR Duo has become increasily popular in adventure racing and for good reason – it’s a great kayak to have adventures in. This is the kayak used in races such as the Coast to Coast (tandem section), the Godzone Adventure Race and the Red Bull Defiance race. But, the AR Duo is more than just a kayak for racing in. It’s a great way to get out and explore.
If you like to paddle for fitness, you will find this kayak just the ticket for double-the-fun training sessions. The front and rear hatches also allow you to carry some gear, so light and fast adventures can easily be had.
The design of the AR Duo borrows from both racing doubles and double sea kayaks. When you compare it to a double sea kayak of a similar length, the AR Duo is the faster choice. And compared to a double race kayak, the AR Duo is more stable. Think of it as a halfway point between the two.
The other reason you will find this an easy kayak to live with is the weight. At 30kg it’s much easier to move around off the water than other kayaks.
