CEKR Omo Touring Paddle
We will have our first CEKR Omo paddles arriving in June.
Description
Do you describe your paddling style as ‘relaxed’? The Omo is a low angle paddle, working well for paddlers who have a relaxed paddling style. The blades move smoothly through the water, without any hint of fluttering.
The blades on the Omo are light, and have a nice, buoyant feel to them. Perfect for long days on the water.
The shaft is a mix of fibreglass and carbon, giving a nice balance between rigidity and flex. It’s stiff enough that you don’t feel like power is being lost, but it has enough flex to look after your joints. In the middle of the shaft is a Kajak Sport adjuster clamp. You adjust the offset and there’s a 10cm range of length adjustment. The shaft has a locator fitted on the right side, and heat shrink is fitted on both sides.

Blade Design
The blade on CEKR touring paddles (Omo, Ichibi & Vango) is offset, making them very stable as they move through the water. Take a look at the back of these paddles and you’ll spot a ‘dome’ shape. Instead of the blade having a spine for rigidity, it has a hollow core. This gives the rigidity that’s required, and it also gives some buoyancy. Give a CEKR paddle a try and you will feel the difference.
